Junior Gourmet

My mom flew into town yesterday and I had promised her that I would wait to start Benjamin on solid food until she was here and able to join in the fun. And it was fun! Since I love food and love to cook, I've been excitedly waiting until I could introduce food to Benjamin.

He looks like such a big boy now when he sits up in his highchair...I'm kind of sad to see him growing up :/

We gave him his first three bites of rice cereal this morning and he was NOT interested. When we tried again this afternoon, he really started to get the hang of it; opening up wide, leaning into the spoon whenever it got close to his face, and smacking his hand on the tray with approval. He was still making some funny faces though... And he did get a little confused as to what, exactly, he was supposed to eat... Of course, most of the cereal did end up dribbling down his chin and soaking his bib... It must be baby instinct to want to rub food in hair!
