Memorial Day 2010

We are really enjoying living in Portsmouth! Some aspects of it have that small-town feel and we are having fun exploring all of the things available to do. Yesterday we went to the 126th Annual Portsmouth Memorial Day Parade; it's the oldest continuously run parade in the nation. My parents met us there and we enjoyed getting into the patriotic swing of things. We perched on the sidewalk across from the Commodore Theater; a movie theater that has a full menu so you can order (and eat!) while watching a movie.
Of course, while we were waiting for the parade to begin, Samuel spent a good deal of time in the stroller:
But when we let him escape, he retaliated by pulling on his Oompa's beard and munching on parts of his Mimi's hat. (Kind of makes me think of a goat--aren't they the animals that nibble on EVERYTHING??) This was Benjamin's first parade experience and he really loved seeing the floats, marching bands and all of the firetrucks and antique cars that went by.
And here is our little goat, still munching away during the parade :-)
