Friday afternoon my cousins, James and Sharon, stopped by for an overnight visit with their dog, Sadie. They live just outside of San Francisco and took a week trip down to Southern California to visit Palm Springs and the beaches. They made the detour to our house and we had a fun evening hanging out and catching up. After dinner, Jason and I took them to the beach on base where the boys set up a campfire and we all toasted marshmallows to make S'mores. (You can't have a campfire and not make S'mores!) The fire pit where we set up our marshmallow roasting station was pretty close to the inlet where the sea lions like to retreat and we got to hear them snorting and splashing around.
We wondered how Lucy would do with another dog sharing her home and we are happy to say that she got along well with Sadie...for the most part, they ignored each other!
Here are two photos from the beach:

It took them a while to get the fire just right, but in the end their perseverance and constant adjustments to the wood paid off with a nice fire to help with the chilly night.

Here James and I decide to mug for the camera. There was a nice sunset and an incredibly huge and glowing full moon.
