Lucy...the Wind-Up Toy

This past weekend, Jason, Lucy, and I, along with his parents, went to visit his aunt and uncle. They live just south of L.A. in the foothills and the best part is that they normally have sunshine...EVERY DAY!! (We've been having the same cloudy days in Point Mugu, mixed with some afternoon sun, and a steady-never-changing temperature of the high 60's-low 70's...of course I'm not complaining when I think of everyone suffering in the high heat and high humidity on the East Coast, but a little variety might be nice!)

We had a super fun time splashing around in their pool and even Lucy joined in the water fun. At first, she wasn't so sure about going in the pool. Once Jason began throwing her ball into the pool however, she was willing to try a few plunges herself...although she isn't a big fan of leaping in and letting the water swallow her. That all changed when she figured out how to enter the pool by the steps; she would come in after us and zoom around for a lap or two before climbing out, shaking off, and then returning to the pool for more laps. She really does look just like a wind-up bath toy as she labors to keep her head out of the water and motors around in the water.
