On the fourth Sunday of every month, our church does not have an evening service. Since Jason is home after two weeks in Fallon, NV, this past Sunday, we took an afternoon trip to the beach. It was freezing!! Thanks to the bitterly cold wind, we weren't able to stay very long but at least Lucy was able to splash around in the water and chase after her Jolly Ball.

Benjamin and I sat on a blanket and shivered...

And Benjamin discovered the joys of playing with a water bottle.

I think he looks very grown up in this picture, as if he is actually about to unscrew the cap and take a sip of water.

We saw at least two harbor seals playing in the water very close to the shore. Part of the time, they were so close that Jason didn't let Lucy in the water.

And then, I got this picture of Jason next to a seal poking his head out of the water!

After we left the beach, we were driving down to the point (Jason always likes to check out the waves) and we saw dolphins swimming very, very close to the shore--they were maybe ten feet from the beach! It was pretty exciting to see them so close!
