Wedding Witnesses

When one of my cousins got married a few years ago, my mom began a tradition to make a wedding quilt for each her nieces/nephews. The coolest part of each of the quilts is that she has all of the members of the wedding party, as well as close family who attend the wedding, sign their names on pieces of fabric which she then incorporates into the boarder of each quilt...hence the clever name "Wedding Witnesses." Part of the tradition is that my mom makes the quilt during the year and then presents it to the couple during Christmas so that everyone in the family can share in the presentation. When Jason and I got married two years ago, we were the third couple among my cousins to marry within an 11 month span so we were also the last to receive our wedding quilt. We finally got it this year!!
Here are the pictures from Christmas Day when we opened it: All of the quilts have been different colors and patterns. The only thing I knew about our quilt was that it was going to be red and white--the colors of our wedding.
