Gingerbread Train

On Monday, the treat in the Advent Train was this:

Once Samuel was down for his afternoon nap, Benjamin and I got busy making the Gingerbread Train. Benjamin was definitely interested in the candy and wanted to make sure they were all open first:

He helped me kneed the icing:

And we managed to get the rough outline put together:

Benjamin's favorite part was sticking the candy on the icing! He really got into it.

He is very proud of the gingerbread train that he helped assemble. Every time he sees it, he points it out and makes sure that we notice it by asking "See my train?"

Not too bad for a 2.5 year old and a mommy who threw her back out halfway through decorating the train!
